The Department of Sociology is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in
Sociology. The Department is looking for a well qualified candidate with
broad interests across the domains of sociological research.
Applications in the areas of economic sociology, cultural economy and
sociological theory, or an interest in innovative, quantitative methods
would be particularly welcome.
You will teach on undergraduate and Masters courses, supervise research
students and play an active role in the administration of the Department.
You will have a completed PhD in Sociology or a related discipline. A
requirement is a developing record of high quality publications that
will contribute to the Department's research profile.

Dr. Helen B. Marrow, an incoming Assistant Professor in the Department
of Sociology at Tufts University, is looking for a teaching assistant
for Introduction to Sociology for Fall 2010. The course enrolls 60 to
75 students and meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:45
a.m.; there are no additional sections. Classes run from September 8 to
December 8, 2010, with grading responsibilities extending to January 3,
2011. The TA will grade exams, papers, and class presentations; keep
track of attendance and class participation; collect assignments; lead
any exam review sessions; possibly give one or two classes; and assist
the instructor in other appropriate ways. Candidates with backgrounds
in sociology are preferred, but those in related disciplines and with
experience conducting social science research will also be considered.
The salary for this one-semester position is $4,500.

The Committee on Degrees in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality is

the '10-'11 academic year.
Experience in LGBTQ history, Ethnic Studies, and/or intellectual focus
