Subject: Claremont Prize for the Study of Religion - IRCPL, Columbia University
Dear Jessica (if I may),
I am the Program Manager at the Institute for Religion, Culture and Public Life at Columbia University. IRCPL has just announced the Claremont Prize for the Study of Religion<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ircpl.columbia.edu_res…>, which is dedicated to the publication of first books by early career scholars working in any discipline of the humanities or social sciences.
This competition will give scholars the opportunity to travel to Columbia University and workshop their manuscript with a group of dedicated faculty/experts. Short-listed manuscripts will undergo a peer review process with Columbia University Press, and prize-winners will see their book published in the IRCPL book series<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__cup.columbia.edu_serie…> at CUP.
We are accepting applications from scholars who have received their PhD in or after 2012 and who are looking to publish their first single-authored book. Submissions can be on any aspect of the study of religion, including the study of secularism. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2019.
I attach here a PDF of the announcement. As this is the first iteration of the prize, I would be very grateful if you could help us spread the word by circulating it with your networks (especially recent graduates from your program).
Thanks so much!
Best,
Marianna
