Subject: possible visiting position in Emmanuel Sociology Department
Hi, all.
I hope you are well. I am writing because our sociology department at Emmanuel may be looking to fill a one year teaching position. We would like someone with PhD in hand, or very, very close. The load would be 3-3, but could likely be 2 preps per semester. Courses to be covered may include: intro, U.S. institutions, urban, and healthcare. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please send them my way.
Thanks very much,
Cathy

Mouseion Seeks PhD Candidates
Flexible Project Work on Social Sciences
Mouseion's principal role is to facilitate the development of quality
education in the humanities and social sciences, starting in the Arab World.
Our initiatives include capacity-building charitable work, facilitating
scholarships for students, academics and journalists, and collaborating
with existing government and non-governmental institutions to build
partnerships capable of delivering the highest quality educational products
to underserved markets. Mouseion's key offering will be an innovative
library of textual and audiovisual materials that illuminate seminal texts
in 14 social sciences.
The Job:
Mouseion is developing educational materials in the social sciences and
humanities for licensing to universities and inclusion in innovative digital
learning products. An important source for these materials will be detailed
commentaries on seminal texts, and we are looking to recruit PhD students
and post docs to work in the summer and fall of 2012 on a text each. We
offer an hourly rate of USD $25 based on the project requirements, for
approximately 120 hours of project work over 3-4 months.
Start date: Variable
Duration: 3-4 months through the summer and fall
Estimated time commitment: Approx. 120 hours
Compensation: $25/hr - Strong performance may lead to further project
opportunities
The ideal candidate is a PhD candidate with strong analytical skills and a
willingness to really engage and explicate a seminal text in their field.
Candidates should also be organized, driven, and responsive while working
independently. This may be the best way to both earn and learn while working
on a flexible, project-driven basis, helping to lay the foundation for
transformative new approaches to education in the Arab world.
How to Apply:
To apply for the position, applicants should send a CV to the below email
with a few lines about why you are interested included in the body of the
