FYI
Dear Harvard Sociology PhDs & Candidates,
Who we are
I'm the lead data scientist at ERPi, a US federal government consulting firm, and am expanding its data science organization. A social science PhD myself (Rice, political science, 2010), I've had great success hiring social science PhDs for our work. If you're interested and possess quantitative skills, I want to recruit you.
My data science team (14 and growing) investigates fraud, waste, abuse, and data quality for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This essentially means protecting US veterans, a needy population, from fraud. Our data science activities range from simple tasks to predictive models, NLP, and neural networks.
Why social science PhDs?
* Demonstrated strong analytical thinking capability
* Proven communications skills
* Ability to plan, execute, defend, and explain a multi-year complex project with minimal supervision
* Incredible dedication and work ethic
* Interest in improving society, especially for the less fortunate
