Sasha Killewald is a friend of mine and suggested I send this message to your graduate students on the market or recent grads who might still be looking. Please feel free to share widely.
The Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Anthropology at Christopher Newport University is recruiting a tenure-track criminologist or sociologist with a preference for someone who specializes in gender, sexuality, and crime; inequality and crime; and/or victimization. This job would be a great fit for someone who enjoys teaching, especially undergraduates, as that is truly valued. We live up to supporting it with most classes being under 25 students (our typical cap is actually 19) and scheduling that almost always keeps number of preps limited. Tenure-track faculty have a 3-3 load, which is lower than many public teaching-intensive universities (at least when I was on the market myself). There is also still strong support for research and a very collegial faculty; our department in particular has a really supportive and friendly atmosphere.
Christopher Newport University is public, but is small and prides itself on providing a liberal arts environment with close contact between faculty and our mostly-undergrad student population. Newport News is a city on the James River in coastal Virginia, close to Williamsburg, Norfolk, and Richmond.

I am not on the search committee (and am actually on parental leave this semester—a strong benefit here) but I would be happy to answer questions from anyone considering applying.
Best,
Jane
