Postdoctoral Associate position available for outstanding candidate in basic or applied network science research at the Yale Institute for Network Science (YINS), a multi-disciplinary research institute. Applicants with background in computer science, math, physics, engineering, sociology, economics, anthropology, political science, life sciences or other fields, may apply. A strong scholarly record and demonstrated ability to conduct challenging and innovative work are more important than specific content area.
Must have a Ph.D.; be able to undertake full-time research; have a well-developed research agenda; be able to collaborate on ongoing projects; and work under the supervision of one or more members of the YINS faculty. Strong analytical background and interest in interdisciplinary research in a relevant field, including (but not limited to) machine learning, data mining, social networks, statistical modeling, and related areas is required. Candidates with interests that complement current faculty interests will also be given particular attention.
Position anticipated to be available as early as January, 2016. Those interested in starting in the summer of 2016 are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Applying:
* Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent conferred at the time the postdoc position begins
* Significant demonstrated experience in network science methods is required
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Enthusiastic, dedicated and collaborative attitude to research.
