Lecturer Position Openings for Fall 2015
Lecturer for Environmental Sociology for the Fall 2015 semester, which begins September 8,
2015. Class meets twice a week, days and times are negotiable. This course examines how
human society impacts and is impacted by the natural environment in the United States and
across the globe. Doctorate or ABD in Sociology or a related field required; college-level
teaching experience required. Candidates should submit a letter stating their
qualifications for teaching the course, a curriculum vitae, a tentative syllabus (if
available), teaching evaluations from a recent and relevant course (if available), and two

education as a social institution that exists inside and outside of schools, in order to
understand its role in both alleviating and reproducing social inequalities for different
groups in the United States. Doctorate or ABD in Sociology or a related field required;

Lecturer for Sociology of Culture for the Fall 2015 semester, which begins September 8,
2015. Class meets twice a week, days and times are negotiable. This course opens up a
cultural form, such as social media, television or music or theater, to be understood in
terms of the social processes that shape its production, reception, and content, as well
as its impact back on society. The course could be an examination of a major popular
culture product (e.g. The Wire) or of a single form (e.g. hip hop). Doctorate or ABD in
Sociology or a related field required; college-level teaching experience required.
