POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW IN DEVELOPMENT STUDIES, EMORY UNIVERSITY
The Emory Program in Development Studies is seeking a one-year
post-doctoral fellow to strengthen its teaching and research in
development studies, with a specific focus on the development
challenges of weak governance and protracted crises. The position
will begin August 15, 2010 and will be renewable for a second year
pending budgetary approval. In terms of regional specialization,
preference will be given to Sub-Saharan Africa but other regions
will be considered. Candidates must have a PhD from one of the
following disciplines: anthropology, political science, or
sociology. The successful candidate would be expected to pursue
her/his own research related to development studies and to teach
two courses per year: (1) a new graduate course on development in
areas of weak governance and protracted crises; and (2) an
undergraduate course of the candidate's choice. Salary will be
$48,000 per year with appropriate benefits, including health
insurance, and a small research/travel allowance. To apply, please
